AHA Co-Ed Travel Teams participate in the Greater Springfield League (GSL) with other teams from across the Pioneer Valley. The GSL season is typically comprised of 20+ regular season games with the possibility of playoffs. The season runs from September through March. Our teams also participate in independent games and tournaments throughout the season to broaden the range of competition. Teams practice two times per week (more when ice is available), usually on weeknights, and play 1-2 games on weekends. Skaters are required to have full hockey gear: AHA provides socks and practice jerseys; players are responsible for all other gear and game jerseys (home and away).
Coaches are encouraged to follow USA Hockey’s ADM model. Small area games and small drill groups are used to promote maximum puck touches and activity. We provide professional skating instruction and goalie clinics to our travel teams.
